Park Han-byul was born on 17 November 1984 in Seoul, South Korea. While a student at Anyang Art High School, she published photographs of herself on the Internet and became an online celebrity because of her physical resemblance to actress Jeon Ji-hyeon. She began her acting career in the horror film Wishing Stairs in 2003.

After that, she appeared in several Korean drama series on television. In 2008, she returned to the cinema in the film Fate. Later that same year, she was a lead actress in the horror film Yoga. In 2010, she was a lead actress in the movie My Little Black Dress.
