Dolls gathers three love stories inspired by a doll show from the Bunraku theater. In the first one, Matsumoto and Sawako are a happy couple, but pressure from their two families will force them to make a tragic choice.
In the second one, Hiro, a yakuza chief, returns to a park where he used to see his girlfriend, and remembers… Thirty years earlier, he was a poor worker and found himself forced to separate from the girl to join the crime scene.
In the third, Haruna, whose face is covered with bandages, spends most of her time looking at the sea. Not long before, she was a music star, used to signing autographs and showing herself on television. Nukui is undoubtedly her biggest fan and today he intends to prove it to her.
