Synopsis:
A few years before World War II, Chiyo, a little Japanese girl, is taken from her poor family to work as a servant in a geisha house. As she grows up, she complies with the difficult initiation that will make her a true geisha. She overcomes the traps set for her by her rival, the deceitful Hatsumomo, and after years of work becomes the legendary geisha Sayuri.
